What's Gotten Into Condi?

My friend E. just forwarded this super-glam photo of Condoleezza Rice, shown accepting a Glamour magazine Woman of the Year award. After years of wearing helmet hair, Condi looks fresh and youthful with a flattering new haircut.

And then there was her glowing reaction to Barack Obama's victory last week. One pundit pointed out that he had never seen Condi look so happy. Is it just me, or does it seem like she's really ready to be done with her Team W. days?

She looks like she could bench press her weight, for real. It takes real discipline to work the 20 hour days she probably works and still find time to work out and eat well. Of course, it doesn't hurt if you have people around you who can run out and get you a salad when you're munchy.

I have a friend that looks just like her, only without the muscles.

She does look great! I've heard some Republicans mention that Condi would make a great presidential candidate for the GOP in 2012. The theory is that she's qualified, and would remove any consideration of racial bias from the election. People would have to choose based upon the issues.

However, I guess someone could argue then people may vote based upon gender bias.

I think McCain could have won if he had picked her as his running mate, assuming she wanted the job. (She probably doesn't.) I don't agree with her politics, but it's hard not to admire her. And yes, those guns of hers are amazing!

If I had just seen that pic with no caption, I totally would not have recognized her. If the 2 woman angling for 2012 are Rice and Palin, Condi wins hands down. Both their politics suck, but Condi is at least a politically accomplished woman who can answer a question coherently.

If I were Condi, I'd go on the speaking circuit, write books and watch the cash roll in. It will be very interesting to see what her next move is.

According to Robin Givhan, it's not a hair cut, but an updo. Oh well. It still looks fresh.
