A Nice Photo I Took
For about an hour yesterday, I was so angry with my son, who was being as difficult and argumentative as he has ever been. It was one of those days when I wondered why someone like me, a control freak who who always wants to seem "appropriate," wound up with a kid who smells fear and kicks it around like a soccer ball. And then I took a look at this picture of him with a friend, which reminded me of how sweet and downright charming he can be. It's a package deal. I guess a picture really is worth ... don't make me say it.

Definitely keep that in mind. Interesting people are rarely the easy to control kind.
Aw. Where were y'all?
PS: Kids are cute so parents don't kill them.
So true, you two! DG, I was taking the photo, and the husband was behind me with the other dad.
Ha, I meant, were y'all out at a park? I used to practically live at Koukie (Koukee?), and I always like to know which local parks people enjoy most.
Oh! This was out at the Miccosukee Greenway.
I was out there just last week, on a picnic with my girlfriend and some of her buddies. That's a great space. My mom used to walk there every day and once had a run-in with a gator on one of the trails!
That's real Florida for you! You aren't a real citizen until you've been face-to-face with an alligator, I say.
And not just Old Joe at Wakulla Springs, either.
Nice!
